White Night definitely replicates the feeling of old school Resident Evil, where you carefully plot your next sortie according to how far you think you can make it with your current supplies. Not least because of how widely space apart the save points are. There are no zombies in White Night but if you’re caught in the dark by a ghost then you’ll be instantly killed, with no way to defend yourself.Īs you creep through the darkness, hoping to make it to the safety of the next pool of light, getting jumped by a spectre never happens quite when you expect it and the panic is always genuine. This is not just to help you navigate around, but to keep the ghosts at bay.
